Lemon

April is in her 14th week of pregnancy, which means eebe is the size of a lemon. We both think it’s pretty comical to choose common fruits to represent the fetus, but I guess it’s a pretty universal way to understand size. And it’s just size, not really shape. The only odd ones in the list are week 10: Prune (makes me picture a dry, shriveled, not very tasty baby) and week 21: Banana (uhhhh, our baby isn’t a banana). Must be a shortage of round fruits at 10.5 inches.

So eebe is now 3.4 inches, is forming fingerprints, wiggling toes, and getting all the basic nourishment plumbing (liver, kidney, spleen).

April and I bought the first (of very many) kids books. Sparkle and Spin, I know a lot of things and my favorite Creature abc, which has beautiful photos of animals. I can’t wait to read to our future son or daughter every night and get them to memorize that Xx is for Oryx.
